WOMEN IN ELECTRONICA is a strand of the Futuresonic festival that from 2000 to 2001 facilitated performance, training and networking opportunities specifically for female artists.

As part of the futuresonic<01> festival, WOMEN IN ELECTRONICA presented See in Sound, a series of workshops teaching techniques in electronic music and digital sound composition, focussing on the production of soundtracks for films made from surveillance camera footage.
The SiS workshops are an extension of 'CCTV - The Director's Cut', a collaboration between futuresonic and the Mark Thomas Product (Channel 4) involving a competition for DIY films made from CCTV footage reclaimed under the new Data Protection Act.
futuresonic has commissioned two leading sound artists to run the workshops Kaffe Matthews and Riz Maslen.
